There is a guy I've come across who every now and then
will mingle up his scripture with philosophies of men
In Sunday school we roll our eyes when he brings up his views
on politics or random crap reported by the news
He disregards the text and mostly reads between the lines
'cause that's the part that talks about the gospel's REAL designs
He thinks he's got a better read on being truly pious
while blinded by his omnipresent confirmation bias
He contradicts inspired words from more official sources
with snippets out of context from the Journal of Discourses
The chicken of philosophy has flown the gospel coop,
his nostrils flare and he declares, "I'll start a Facebook group!"
